Cerclage de la partie haute de l’estomac par un anneau de silicone gonflable par l’intermédiaire d’un réservoir placé sous la peau. L’estomac est ainsi divisé en 2 poches inégales. Le petit estomac, réduit à une poche de 15 à 20ml, se vide lentement dans le grand par un phénomène de sablier.
